Babelfishing Poetry: You Can Stop Vitaunguzwa

Babelfishing Poetry: You Can Stop Vitaunguzwa

Here's more Babelfishing poetry, where I take song lyrics, run them through an on-line translator such as (but not necessarily) Babelfish, tweak the punctuation a bit, and wind up with a quirky kind of poem.

This time it's Modern English's hit "I Melt With You," which the Babelfishing process eventually makes sound like some kind of alien public service announcement (video here).

You Can Stop Vitaunguzwa

I have seen your face,
the fall in all regions of the world.
They do not always know the truth --
the common cold.

Nature of the world:
you and I can stop vitaunguzwa.

I've noticed the gap has been
the continuous improvement
of time.

I have nothing with you
and the natural world.
And you can stop vitaunguzwa.

Sigh

Thursday morning here, and I am winding down my work week. I think I was up too late last night because I am really dragging this morning.

It ended up being my last graphic design class last night, since we were all finished with our final projects and there is an exhibit next week. I was totally prepared for another week, so now that we don't have one, its a nice and welcome suprise for me. Ony two more WP classes, and a Psych final to go. Can you tell I am over it?

So, the holidays are coming up fast this year, and I was so focused on finishing up the semester that I have not really done any planning, let alone procuring of the few holiday gifts that I do give. I have to try to get organized this afternoon/evening and figure out a game plan. I am hoping to finish the assemblage of my cards today as well. I would really like to get the in the mail tomorrow morning.

Why do the days that you are really really tired seem to drag endlessly? I could really use a nap this afternoon...as a matter of fact, that is on my agenda first thing. Go home, take a nap...then get on with the stuff I need to get on with (once I figure it all out!).

OK, better get back to work here. Ugh. Is it 1:30 yet?

Emily Maguire, Taming the Beast

"She knew that this dark, messy, inexplicably beautiful entanglement was a choice. It was not fated, and she could leave any time she liked. If she were to stay, she would have to do so knowing that a life with him was an option out of a million.
But then, life is a constant withering of possibilities. Some are stolen with the lives of people you love. Others are let go, with regret and reluctance and deep, deep sorrow. But there is compensation for lives unlived in the intoxicating joy of knowing that the life you have - right here, right now - is the one you have chosen. There is power in that, and hope."

Catch: August 22nd, 2007 - December 9th, 2009

I almost stayed over at the hotel tonight because of the snow storm. But by the time I got out of work, the roads were okay so I went home. Catch hadn't been doing too well the past 24 hours, but seemed okay when I got home. Just a little while ago, he made a weird sound so I checked on him. One look and I knew it was time. I smoothed his fur and sung him lullabies. It was so hard to watch him go, but I'm glad I was here for him. I hope he found comfort in my presence. Even if just a little.

Poor Catch. He was such a fat, happy rat when he was younger. It was tough seeing him get so old and frail. He didn't seem to mind so much, though, because I spoiled him with all of his favorite snacks and treats to try and keep his weight up. He ate like a hog his whole life. He even scarfed up yogies and a generous piece of banana this morning before I left for work.

My poor little muffins. I'm going to miss Catch and Kotick so much. They were super special to me and my heart aches that I probably won't have rats in my life again for a long time if at all. Here is a video I made (warning: excessive baby-talk) when they were still alive. I can't look at it right now because it will make me cry, but I'm glad I have it.

[The House of Mouse] *Sigh* They canceled my favorite and only soap opera.

I can't believe they canceled "As The World Turns". Honestly, I knew it
was coming to an end after Guiding Light got the cut, but it's still
sad to hear about. I will get to watch it another 9 months and then I
will sadly have to say good bye to it unless it gets picked up by
another station...which I doubt will happen. But you never know. *sigh*
So sad. Anyone else watch "As The World Turns"? Are you sad to see it
go? Meh, ok, back to beads. Bye for now.

[The House of Mouse] 2010 Harley Ken and Barbie giftset...coveted.

Hey guys. I was looking at a doll forum today and found out about the 2010 Harley Ken and Barbie giftset. It is now coveted by moi. Why? Well first take a look at the set.

Photobucket

First of all I love how badass they look. Look at the clothes. Look at the tats. Love it. But then upon looking at it closer...Ken can bend his wrist!!! Ok, sure, action figures had this down long before Ken went to the bank, took out a loan, and bought a clue, but it still gives me the warm fuzzies. :-)

Photobucket

A non-blonde Barbie. Loves. Her tats are too cool. Looks like she has the bendy wrists too, which is good. Love her face paint. Honestly, the only thing I don't like about her is the fact that she isn't mine already. ;-)

Photobucket

A blonde Ken. Loves not so much. But his face mold looks unique, which puts him back on the loves category. Almost looks like the Edward Cullen face mold to me.

Photobucket

I think its the sourpuss look he has going on. But I do like the face mold. Has it been used on any other doll before? Anyone know? Honestly, this guy is begging for a reroot. Perhaps a red-head. :-D Love the tat on his arm. Would to own this set, but perhaps they will make another Fashionista Ken...which I still need to get one, with those wrists.

Its kind of funny. Some collectors think that Mattel doesn't listen to them or pay attention to their buying habits. I on the other hand think their marketing team is smart and paying close attention. I think the reason the Fashionista Ken didn't get bent wrists is because of this new Harley set coming out. Why spend 80 bucks on the set when you can pay 12 bucks at Toys R Us for the one blonde Ken? I think that's the only reason Fashionista Ken ended up with a regular Ken body. Oh well. Mattel has to get their money some how. Hopefully I can get the set for a good amount cheaper in a store next year. I think 80 dollars is to much to spend on a Ken and Barbie doll. Its my opinion, and I'm sticking to it. Please no hate comments about how its a decent price. Its a decent price on a Bobobi sprite, which I would rather spend that kind of money on, so yeah. :-D

Ok, so just wanted to show you guys this set. I'm going back to my beads again. Bye for now.

[The House of Mouse] Forgot to mention this.

I was just thinking about this today and I was going to mention it last
night. Watching Ponyo last night, I noticed the license plate on Lisa's
car and laughed. The number on her plate? 333. LOL! I kid you not. I
wish I knew why 333 was such a thing with me. I wonder what will happen
at 3:33 or what that number means to me? Guess I will find out one day.
I kind of think it will be the time that will be called when I pass
away when I'm a weak and sick little old lady of 99. Or maybe the time
my first child will be born. My winning lottery number perhaps? Meh, I
guess I'll have to wait and see. But just wanted to share that with
you. Working on my beads some more. I want to finish them so I can get
that off my back. They keep calling to me to finish them. Once I finish
them I can move on to something else. Oh, I've decided to take a
picture of my work space. You've seen it in some of my pictures. I
won't take pictures of the room or my room because they are just a
mess...which reminds me, I should throw a load of laundry in the wash.
I'll do that now and make some cocoa for my empty stomach. I'm fasting
today because food is making me so sick. Anyway.

Oh, I wanted to mention something interesting I saw on the news the
other day. Its seems the city I live in is one of the top three cities
in the US that will be offering a lot of jobs next year due to the
military getting bigger here over the next few years. Also my city is
31st in the US to be growing economically. I am shocked because I just
thought my little city was kind of boring with nothing exciting about
it, but that is actually exciting news. I plan to try to get back into
the work force next year part time, and this is good news. I hope that
I will feel better next year so I can take advantage of the jobs coming
into town. Fingers crossed. Ok, I'm off now. Laundry and some more
cocoa. Bye for now ladies and gents.

Snow and stuff

It was snowing to beat the band this morning as I left my apartment to go to work. Since I live the closest to the office of all our employees I was there first. I got a lot accomplished today while outside the snow turned to sleet, then to rain, and everything on the ground turned to slush. I just left work to come home and it is cold, raw and very slushy...still raining. I am trying to keep my fingers crossed that the current slushiness doen't turn into ice while I am in class tonight. Driving my truck in ice is no kind of fun.

So, here we are already at mid-week. Only one more day of work to go, two more art classes, a Psych final, and two more word processing classes to go. I am pretty stoked that school will be done this semester in about a week and a half. Bring it on.

So I've just been keeping my head down and plowing on through...trying to get to the week off from work when I go to PA to see my family. I am so excited!

Speaking of excited....Serena, Chris and I all managed to co-ordinate our schedules so that we will not only see the Tim Burton show at MOMA in NY, but also the Audrey Kawasaki show at the Johnathan Levine Gallery! I am really looking forward to that. We are only going overnight, but it still will be a great time.

OK, I have some last minute crap to finish on my final prokect for graphic art before class tonight. See ya later, taters.

Bedroom Window Views

Bedroom Window Views

I took some pics out my bedroom windows a week and a half ago.

This is what I see looking toward the north out the west window, through the screen. (The foliage is all gone from the trees, now.)

And this is what I see looking toward the south, out that same window.

My neighbor put up her holiday lights, visible out the south window.

Cool.

Shooting through the screen makes them all glittery.

[The House of Mouse] Ponyo On The Cliff By The Sea

That had to be the most ridiculously cute movie I have seen in a long
while. I wanted little Ponyo for myself. She's so adorable. I think I
must get another Bobobie Sprite and make it into Ponyo. :-) Well I am
off to try to get some sleep. Good night, good morning, and good
afternoon depending on where you are.

[The House of Mouse] Mary and Max.

So I'm still sick and today was a bad day. I spent most of the day in bed with my poor broken laptop next to me. The hinge needs to be fixed on it, hopefully next month. To sick to do it now. Anyway, I am catching up on some blogs and on John's blog he mentioned watching a stop animation movie called Mary and Max. It was one of the funniest and touching stories about two pen pals who were so different but so alike too. The ending was so bittersweet, I still have tears in my eyes. If you can rent this movie or watch it online I highly recommend it. Warning, its not for kids. It has adult topics in the movie along the line of where do babies come from and whatnot. I'm off to watch the other movie John mentioned call Ponyo On The Cliff. He said it was cute and I could honestly use cute after feeling so bad and still thinking about Mary and Max's ending. SO yeah, this is just a little update for now. I hope to be able to post more soon. I miss posting every day. More soon peeps, I promise. If you've left a comment, I will get back to you very soon, and thank you so much for the comments. I love getting them. :-) And I will be commenting on blogs as well too. Just want to feel better first so I don't leave rushed comments because I want to go lay back down. Oh well. Until later ladies and gents. Bye for now.

[The House of Mouse] Still here.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to update you on where I've been. I've been dealing with
stomach issues again. I feel so ill all the time and hate it so much.
Yes, I am that old cliche...I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.
But oh well. I'm working on making things better...losing weight.

But with the upset tummy I prefer to just sit still and do something in
one spot. Here lately I've been working on the clay beads I bake a
couple of months back. So far its ok. I just hate waiting for it to
dry. That's my only issue. All the beads need several coats of paint,
so it kind of sucks. I want to be working on doll stuff, but I decided
to get the beads done and I will use them as free gifts for the items I
sell in my shops. That should keep me in free gifts for a while.

So that is where I am at right now. I also am working on my website
again that hasn't been updated since Thanksgiving...last year! LOL! So
yeah, touching that up. Also working on my photostories soon too. Right
now I am working on script, and I having fun with that again. Other
than that not much else. Oh no that's not true, working on my blog and
links and bookmarks. I am will be changing things around so I can make
sure to visit blogs I love more often by having them linked in my blog.

Oh, also I got my webcam to work on my new laptop so I plan to do some
vlogs in the new year. Very excited about that. :-) Humm...that's about
it now. LOL! Gonna go work on beads a bit and let my tummy settle. Talk
to you all soon. Hope you have a great week. :-)

Look! Its me...

So, hello there. It's me again, and its Monday evening once again. Today kind of went by in a blur, which was good since I usually anticipate a lot of yucky things happening on Monday.

Work was busy, and these past few weeks I have gone down to 4 hours on Monday because of my word processing class. I went to class, and even though its scheduled to be a 4 hour class...I finished the tutorial, the review, and the case study as well as updated my resume (for class) in 2 hours, and then came home. Awesome!

I then proceeded to take a nap, which I desperately needed since allthough I went to bed at 9:30 last night, I did not sleep very well.

Chris bought a roast chicken from the grocery store and we ate when he got home from work. I did the dishes (which sorely needed to be done), and now I am here. We are going to watch a Dave Chappelle video in a few to wind down and then we are both getting our asses into bed. Chris has to be up and out by 5am tomorrow for work (retail really is the suck), and I am just tired.

Tomorrow I work until 2pm, have class from 4-6:30ish in which we review our last chapter and then review for next weeks final (Yay to be almost done!), then I have to come home and finish up my graphic arts project...which I am about halfway through finishing. Rinse, repeat!

This weekend I have to begin the process of cleaning out my truck and getting it ready to be in saleable condition, study for Psych final, we have a holiday party on Saturday night, and who knows what all. But I also really really need to finish up my holiday cards and get them mailed off. Always something to do!

OK, I am out of here. I hope you all are doing well.

xoxo

Your time: Check the tire pressure

As the temperatures change with the seasons, it affects your tire pressure on your car (or your bike). Changing elevations also changes tire pressure, so if you're driving to Santa's alpine chateau for Christmas, be sure to check your pressure DURING the trip. Check your tire pressure frequently to make sure you're running on properly inflated tires. Making sure they're the right pressure extends the life of the tire. by up to 15%.

For cars (and ATVs) proper tire pressure also helps save gas and cuts CO2 emmissions. On average, you'll improve your gas mileage by about 3-4% by using properly inflated tires. Gas prices and fuel efficiency vary by location and model, but it'll average off to around paying 7 cents less per gallon. That's about like paying a dollar less every time you fill up.

A regular tire gauge will run about $5. If you have trouble reading the standard rod gauge, digital gauges are only around $10. (makes a great stocking stuffer for a new driver)

Handy video showing you how to find out what your tire pressure should be and how to read the gauge.
